Thanksgiving 2009

Thanksgiving started for us last Friday Novemeber 20th. Guiliana's school (which is also the same school where Grandma Fran works) puts on a Thanksgiving potluck every year and Ms. Fran and her class put on a Thanksgiving show. We contributed Greenbean casserole, which mind you has to feed at least 20 people!!! The food was outstanding and the turnout of people was great! Guiliana even displayed some artwork at the party. Her most favorite part would have to be seeing her friends. Jaden is her best friend and she was dragging her all around all night by the hand. It was cute to see her with her friends.

Then the next night Uncle Mikey and his girlfriend Marybeth had us over for dinner. They did an amazing job decorating their house for Christmas! Guiliana LOVED it! Dinner was super yummy and it was nice to see them. We had a really fun evening and can't wait to do it again. I am so impressed and proud of my brother's decorating that I took some pictures.

THANKSGIVING DAY:
This year was our 2nd year hosting Thanksgiving. I love entertaining and cooking so this was actually fun for me. We had Grandma and Grandpa Tortora, Great Grandma Angie, and Uncle Paul, so it wasn't going to be too out of control. I cooked a 24lbs turkey to insure leftovers but there wasn't many left, but I am taking that as a compliment!! Good thing I bought a 10lb turkey to make tomorrow so we can have plenty. The day was nice and it was great to have some good quality family time. I took a picture of our turkey before I cooked it but forgot to after wards. Guess I was just a little hungry and wanted to get that bird carved!!!
And of course the day after I had all the pumpkins and autumn decor packed away and all of the Christmas decor up!! It has always been a family tradition of mine to decorate the day after Thanksgiving and we are now starting that with our family. I have come to realize that Thanksgiving has become my favorite holiday. It means that we get to kick off the best time of the year with a big meal, decorate our houses, listen to Christmas music, and we have a few weeks of fun Holiday activities to look forward too!! This really is a great time of the year!!

And tonight we went to see the biggest Christmas Tree in AZ. Its located at the Anthem Outlets. It was very cute. There was also Santa's Workshop where you could meet him, But Guiliana wanted nothing to do with him! We did however get our family picture tonight for our Annual Christmas card thanks to Grandpa and a super cute background!
